Why do we all choose to live in Cheshire? Aside from the wonderful people, the amazing food and its rich history? Cheshire is simply a beautiful place to live. It’s rolling hills and winding roads are among the most picturesque in the country (i may possibly be a bit biased...). We’re beyond blessed to have such amazing places right on our doorstep. Here are some of our favourite outdoor dining spaces that you didn’t even know were there…
The Coast
A hidden slice of Italy’s Amalfi Coast, with a multi-award-winning kitchen team in one of Cheshire's most prestigious and affluent villages? It can only be The Coast, in Prestbury.
This independently-owned restaurant welcomes everyone with open arms as if they’re an old friend; a celebrity hotspot that leaves pretension at the door. Whether you’re looking for a Prosecco-fuelled lunch or a family celebration, you’re in safe hands with Blair and his team.
If Aperol Spritz, Italian food and Amalfi vibes are your thing, then you’ll need to pull up a chair on their sun trap front terrace or the rear courtyard, complete with its own Lambretta and water feature. If that’s not quite enough, The Coast boasts a beautiful, private dining space upstairs with its own terrace overlooking Prestbury church. Your own Italian getaway without even boarding a plane.

La Popote
Step into La Popote, one of Cheshire’s finest eateries, and home to owners Joe and Gaelle. Joe is also Head Chef of his unrivalled kitchen team. Both their a la carte menu and ‘Menu of the Week’ are seasonally inspired and led. The à la carte menu rotates every six weeks to ensure ingredients are used at optimal times and their Menu of the Week changes, well, weekly, blowing all creativity out of the water as you’re not going to find the same dish on either menu twice.
Their outdoor space is reminiscent of a quaint English country garden. Relaxing and inviting, fit for everything from a private evening soireé to an intimate evening dinner for two (and a glass of rosé, of course).

The Inn at Huxley
Nestled in the rural Cheshire countryside, not far from Chester, you’ll find this charming, family-owned, rustic restaurant complete with its own stunning terrace and event space with a retractable roof (for those days when the sun decides to show its face). The Inn at Huxley’s menus are heavily influenced by the seasons; paying homage to the British countryside right on their doorstep, their produce is fresher than fresh and the menu evolves almost daily.
We’ve had the pleasure of visiting them many times and we have never once been let down by the food. As the menu is updated so frequently it means each visit is a new experience. If you’re looking for a high-end gastropub with views for days, then you’ve just found it.

San Carlo, Alderley Edge
Needing no introduction, but just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, Welcome to San Carlo, Alderley Edge. This stunning £3m transformation offers an opulent, contemporary take on traditional Italian dining, with interiors inspired by grand Milanese villas and gardens, creating a space that has a captivating ambience and a timeless sophistication.
A sunny dining terrace with a retractable roof features a beautiful white pergola strung with Italian crystal pendant lights, an open flame fireplace and an abundance of verdant planting creates a captivating terrace, reminiscent of a chic Italian garden restaurant.
