What OpenTable said about The Fleece Pub
OpenTable was full of praise for the pub, saying: “Whether you live nearby or are travelling in the area, stopping for a pint and a pub lunch at The Fleece Pub is worth the diversion.
“Owned by the National Trust, The Fleece Pub’s exposed wooden beams, cobblestone floor, and roaring fireplace welcome you into a quintessential country pub. Sit inside by the fire, or soak up the fresh air in the apple orchard and peruse the menu of fresh, country dishes.
“Nibble on vegan anti-pasta with juicy marinated olives, hummus and ciabatta crisps. Next, try starters like delicate, smoked haddock and local asparagus soup. Hearty mains include beer-battered haddock fillet and tender honey-glazed bacon steak.
“Don’t forget to check out the award-winning fleece pies including a beef and mushroom with local ale and a vegan roast vegetable and lentil option. Pair your meal with a pint of cider or real ale and let the classic country pub hospitality put you at ease.”

One said: “The best beef and ale pie we have ever tasted. This inn came highly recommended and being in the area we had to visit it.
“We were definitely not disappointed, and in fact the whole village could be an Agatha Christie film set, but for street markings and road furniture, and of course the weather was beautiful on the day. Try it, you will not be disappointed.”
Another commented: “A really warm and welcoming reception. The room was very atmospheric, clean and comfortable. A wonderful view over the village to the church. The pub was exceptional from the atmosphere to the beers and food. Cannot rate it more highly.”
