The doors have just opened at Wildling, the brand-new restaurant at Minster Mill hotel in the Oxfordshire village of Minster Lovell.
Set in a charming dining space with vaulted ceilings and original oak beams, Wildling offers a classic, yet relaxed ambiance, open from Wednesday to Sunday for breakfast, and from Tuesday to Saturday for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
Blending contemporary and traditional British cooking with a local twist, Wilding’s head chef, Andrew Campbell, meticulously sources the best seasonal, regional ingredients, proudly supporting local farmers and artisan producers.
Breakfast includes a continental offering, with overnight oats and pastries amongst the selection on offer, alongside cooked-to-order favourites such as bacon sandwiches and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, as well as treats including sweetcorn fritters with chorizo and fried duck egg.
Lunch and dinner offerings at Wildling include a choice of small dishes, ideal for sharing, as well as plates such as Hawkstone Cider pork cheek; stone bass with mussels, roasted cauliflower and apple; and delicious desserts, including favourite lavender pannacotta with yoghurt sorbet.
The perfect place to celebrate any occasion in style, private dining options are available, and on sunny days, guests can choose to enjoy a drink or meal alfresco on the terrace or in the pretty gardens, too. For those not immediately ready to go home after dinner, on each evening throughout the year there will also be ‘Fireside Moments’ on offer, with the option to end a meal with a warming treat such as a gingerbread latte, spiced hot chocolate with Kraken Black Spiced Rum, or to enjoy a DIY S’mores and marshmallow kit by an open fire in the gardens.
Wilding is open to all, with locals, walkers and families all invited to try this new village favourite. Bookings are advised, although walk-ins also welcomed.
