Sarah’s Creative Chocolate Kitchen, Eastwood

Chocolate: it’s cheaper than therapy and you won’t need to book an appointment. Any chocoholic should plan to swing by this charming cafe and chocolateria. Within this beautiful, modern eatery, the team craft lots of yummy sweet treats and savoury brunch and lunch foods. Did we mention their mouth-watering milkshakes and coffee?

‘Our waffles are a pure delight, with lots of topping choices, and we make a mean full English breakfast,’ shares director Sarah Anderson.

Other menu must-tries include Sarah’s pancake stacks and ice cream sundaes, as well as her speciality chocolate goodies, which are made on-site, plus irresistible brownies, cakes and deluxe cookies.

Sarah’s chocolate journey began in 2016, when she started training as a chocolatier. Previously she’d been running cookery demonstrations from her home in Southchurch. She began making dark chocolate treats for her family, before selling packs at farmers markets and school fairs, leading her to open an online shop. In 2019, she opened her dream premises: the eatery and store in Eastwood. Here, she not only makes and serves fine chocolate but offers a variety of chocolate-making classes for guests to enjoy.

‘We like to give participants a space in which to see their wildest chocolate-making dreams come to life,’ enthuses Sarah, ‘Whether you’re one or 101, there are classes to suit all, from little and large daytime classes to after-school clubs, or something special to enjoy at the weekend.’

Sarah also hosts private parties, including birthday events, hen/stag dos and afternoon teas, and says that her prosecco and chocolate classes offer the ideal opportunity to let your hair down! Forget Willy Wonka - it seems in Sarah’s Creative Kitchen, we’ve discovered Essex’s very own answer to our chocolate cravings!
