Shanghai Noir, Westminster

Taking up residence on the lower ground floor of the stunning, Grade II listed Old Westminster Fire Station, Shanghai Noir harks back to the heyday of 1920s and 1930s Shanghai with a fusion of powerful flavours, and opulent furnishings.

This sultry new Indo-Chinese Brasserie offers a heady atmosphere that’s heavy with anticipation captures the spirit of the city that never slept and brings an air of the unexpected to every visit.

The restaurant and bar are open Monday-Friday evenings from 5pm until midnight, then for lunch and dinner service on Saturdays.

Spiced aromas and low lighting guide you down the staircase surrounded by chinoiserie wallpaper and gleaming brass accents. Inside, tables are dotted with small, red-fringed lamps. The Edwardian-era building provides plenty of characterful private dining nooks to suit special occasions.

Familiar calling cards of Chinese cuisine take on complex flavour profiles or twists on tradition with an Indo-spin. Seared black bean scallops, Five-spiced beef with wild mushroom bao, Paneer garlic cream mushroom bao, Devil’s chicken lollipop, and green papaya and mango salad bring zest, depth and tang to dishes that can either be eaten as starters, a moreish accompaniment to cocktails, or ordered in abundance for a tasting table full of delicious smaller servings.

And the drinks are in a world of their own!

Masterfully created cocktails come laced with intriguing new layers of fusion flavour beautifully served within clever contraptions. The Shanghai Noir Firecracker comes smoking inside the Assassin’s Teapot and there's a fruity, aromatic take on the classic Margarita, The Shanghai (Tequila Blanco, kiwi, coriander, lime & almond)...

Located at the Pumphouse Museum in Walthamstow, this unique venue combines first-class Latin American cuisine on a fully restored 1967 Victoria Line tube carriage, making it the destination of choice for transport geeks and lovers of all things quintessentially British.

Operating weekly from Thursday through Saturday, Supperclub.tube's new seasonal menu has launched.

The UK's only fine dining tube experience delivers a luxurious gourmet feast. Head chef Beatriz Maldonado Carreño takes her guests on an eclectic journey of Latin American cuisine with her seasonally evolving six-course menu.

Showcasing her homeland with culinary traditions from Colombia, combined with British cooking techniques and seasonal produce, Bea's dishes perfectly mix elements from numerous cultures for a meal like no other.

The new mouth-watering tasting menu includes Gorditas (blue, white and red Mexican style corn bread topped with Yucatan style pulled-pork, chipotle and achiote sauce, pickled apple and chilli), followed by main courses that bring out the best of the season such as Ceviche Ecuatoriano, and a succulent Ocopa. Be sure to save space for gloriously good dessert that celebrates all things chocolate including a rich chocolate cake, dulce de leche wontons, chocolate and coffee mousse, and uchuva and pineapple compote.

A collection of carefully selected South American wines and bespoke cocktails have been expertly crafted to complement each dish too.

UBA, a decadent new dining spot, is now open at East London's stylish Hart Shoreditch.

Helmed by globetrotting chef Paul Greening, this brand-new restaurant offers guests a distinct gourmet experience that reflects the vibrance of the hotel itself, and its celebration of culture.

Dishes are inspired by Paul Greening’s journeys across Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

The menu ranges from silky sashimi and new-style sushi to fluffy hirata buns and dim sum, gorgeous gyoza and soul-soothing ramen.
