From coffee shops to fine dining, Rossendale has something for everyone.

ROAST, Crawshawbooth
This barista coffee shop opened its doors last autumn but already has many fans, including dogs who can tuck into doggy treats. There is a range of vegan and gluten free items and owner Dave Waller sources everything from within Rossendale: the meat only travels from the butcher next door.

THE CIRCLE, Bacup
A wonderfully atmospheric event space inside a converted church. By day, it offers a super range of home-baked pizzas, with the evening showcasing an authentic Lebanese menu. The tapas selection is hugely varied, including baba ghanouj and Lebanese soujouk with a good selection of Lebanese mains and vegetarian options.

COLLEEN’S, Ramsbottom
A neighbourhood restaurant offering weekend brunch – choose from dishes such as eggs benedict or brioche French toast with whipped cream and candied pecans – to dinner. The dinner menu includes bulgar wheat risotto with butternut squash and fried parsley, or, if you’re feeling sociable, go for a shared steak.

RESTAURANT METAMORPHICA, Haslingden
Steven Halligan is the award-winning chef-patron of this stylish fine dining restaurant, featuring exciting tasting menus. Consisting of between 10 and 15 courses, they can be accompanied by a wine journey sourced from the extensive cellar. Guests are limited, making the experience a personal and very special one.

FISHERMAN’S RETREAT, Ramsbottom
Far from the madding crowd, this restaurant serves traditional and locally sourced, modern British food – from fish and chips to venison casserole. It also serves champagne afternoon teas and is home to what is said to be one of the best single malt whisky bars in the world.
