A beach in Lancashire has been named among the UK’s best for dogs in the UK in a new list by The Guardian.
Introducing the list, The Guardian said: “The author of a new guide to dog-friendly days out selects ideal beaches for dog walkers year-round – plus places to stay nearby”.
Lytham St Annes features in the list as one of the UK’s best dog-friendly beaches.

Lytham St Annes is described as being “certainly less busy” in comparison to Blackpool.
The Guardian said: “Lytham St Annes is a couple of miles from bustling Blackpool and is certainly less busy, but it still has a handsome pier with ice-cream shops and fish and chip vendors, plus beach huts you can rent by the day.”

St Anne’s Beach has received praise from its visitors on Tripadvisor, earning it a 4.5/5 star rating from 614 reviews.
While it has been named among the best dog-friendly beaches in the UK, it isn’t without its rules one visitor said: “Love love love this beach. It's so clean compared to Blackpool beach and it's just a lovely beach to go to.
“No dogs are allowed during the months of May-July. Water is quite far out- could take a good 40 minutes to get to the actual water. Overall it's a nice place to go.”
Another said: “Wow a great well looked after beach with plenty to do from golf , wet play area. A little train . Trampolines a lovely pier . Donkey rides . And beautiful gardens . Very clean and tidy well policed too! I would highly recommend a trip here”.
