Ladies' days at Yorkshire racecourses are always a reason for dressing up and a raft of prizes are on offer at 'best-dressed' competitions throughout the racing season - and not just for the ladies.
Five-star hotel Grantley Hall, near Ripon, is this year’s headline sponsor of the Ebor Fashion Lawn, which will take place across the four days of The Sky Bet Ebor Festival, from 21 - 24 August 2024 at York Racecourse.
Fashionistas gathered at The Orchard Grantley Hall to mark the launch of the fashion collaboration. The Sky Bet Ebor Festival hosts some of the oldest and most iconic races at York Racecourse, whilst combining sporting excellence with fashion and fun over four days.
The Ebor Fashion Lawn is a catwalk that’s open to all during the races, offering the opportunity for the most stylishly dressed to show off their outfits, whilst a judging panel will then select the best dressed each day of the festival. Judges this year will include resident milliner George Durdy, Melissa Barton (founder of the luxury British occasion wear brand 8th Sign) alongside representatives from Grantley Hall. The judges will decide the winners for each of the five categories: Most Stylish, Most Stylish Couple, Most Stylish Runner Up, Best Hat, and Best Dressed Child.
As part of the sponsorship, Grantley Hall will be providing some fantastic prizes, including:

o Midweek Dine & Unwind Spa Experience for Two at Three Graces Spa (worth £270)
o Ladies Day – Midweek Overnight Stay for Two in a Deluxe Room with Afternoon Tea for Two (worth £710)
· Most Stylish Runner Up:
o Afternoon Tea for Two (worth £110)
o Ladies Day – Champagne Afternoon Tea for Two (worth £145)
Go Racing in Yorkshire hosts ladies' day best-dressed competitions at courses across Yorkshire with some fabulous prizes up for grabs, from a range of competitions, including best hat, or best couple to the overall best dressed, who will go on to represent their racecourse in the Go Racing In Yorkshire best dressed final. A public vote in September will decide the overall Go Racing In Yorkshire Best Dressed winner, who will win an amazing “Country Getaway” courtesy of Lloyd Land Rover York, Country Huts on the Wolds and Parnaby’s.
The prize consists of the use of a Land Rover vehicle for two days from Lloyd Land Rover York, when the winner can drive off in elegant style, making their way to the rural idyll of Thixendale for a two night stay at Country Huts on the Wolds, luxury traditional style Shepherds Huts, before visiting the beautiful market town of Malton and heading for Parnaby’s where the exceptionally knowledgeable team will fit a pair of his and hers Dubarry boots for the winner to take away.
