It's been very Yorkshire year for presenter Helen Skelton, showcasing the county on our TV screens. She's back with Winter on the Farm from December 3 on Channel 5, and Christmas on the Farm.
Something in Yorkshire that makes you smile
Sandsend: the little estuary, I have had so many great days out with the kids on the beach there. It's a good day out at any time of year, obviously if the sun is shining there is plenty to be grateful for but on a bracing day in winter it blows away the cobwebs.
A place you love to eat
I love The Ivy in Leeds as it feels indulgent and a treat, I have fond memories of going there with my parents at Christmas time and it feels like a nice thing to do and a special memory to hold on to.
A place to take friends
Rudding Park is a lovely place to go with friends, to play some golf in the day, enjoy the rooftop spa for a treat or the campsite and outdoors with friends with kids. I feel like I have spent a lot of time there and it's so familiar and welcoming it is a wonderful home from home.
A childhood memory
Whitby: getting fish and chips on the way home from the football with my parents and brother. I can't remember who we were watching but I remember walking past all of the arcades holding a poke of chips. Watching people crabbing and going off on boats. It's somewhere I have spent a lot of time with my kids, camping and day tripping. It's a special place for me and my kids.
A cultural go-to
Yorkshire Sculpture park. Everytime I go there i see something different and feel something different about the things I see. I am embarrassingly not very good with museums and galleries but YSP really captures me and mine.
Inspiration outdoors
Janet's Foss and Malham cove. I love cold water swimming and every time I go to the foss it feels wrong not to swim which always gets me back into it and I have a few weeks of doing lots of swimming and dipping. Malham Cove is great view without too much of a climb so it's a good bum burning to get me back into fell walking.
A place for indulgence.
Leeds city centre. I think it's the best shopping in the UK in the most stunning arcades. I could wander those arcades browsing all day. Sometimes I do.
A Yorkshire view that inspires
So many. Sutton Bank, Otley Chevin, Filey, Brigg, Norbert Erratics. Almscliffe Crag.... the list goes on.
I'm never happier than when I'm
In the water. Rivers, tarns or the sea.
A Christmas cultural go-to
York Minster.
A view that inspires in winter
The Ribblehead Viaduct is a beautiful viewpoint in the winter months, especially if there is snowfall.
The best Boxing Day walk
The Haworth Circular Walk.
Three words that sum up your best Yorkshire life
Adventurous, friendly, inspiring.
